Plenty to get excited for this year. First up it the regional on Saturday 30th January at London Nautical School (details here)
Then one month later (27th & 28th Feb) it’s Nationals time. Those of you that missed the last Nationals have a second chance to experience a weekend of jitsu greatness. Training in the mornings, competitions in the afternoons and an orange juice on the Saturday night.
The competition is split by grade, gender and weight so you won’t be put against someone twice your size, and you’ll be training with people with roughly the same experience level as you. If you are interested and want to know more, ask someone with a coloured belt at the next session
Final session for 2015 will be on Wednesday 16th December. It will be a shared session with DKK (the guys who occupy the other half of the sports hall while we train) so will be a lot of fun with lots of new people to train with. After that will be the traditional Christmas Orange Juice.
First session of the New Year will be announced in due course.
Deck the Halls (or a Purple Belt)… It’s Christmas, which means Orange Juices at the Counting House with all the other clubs in London. Rumour has it we will also be celebrating Maliths 21st Birthday (again).
It is on Saturday 6th December (ie this Saturday) at the Counting House (50 Cornhill, EC3V 3PD ) from 8pm
Regional: Saturday 24th October 10:30am to 3pm Followed by Hawaiian Halloween Party! £10
Held at London Nautical School, this session will be taught by the top instructors in London. There will be plenty of new people to train with, so don’t worry about being the only novice there. Afterwards there will be an evening of getting to know people off the mat at a Hawaiian Halloween Party held at South London Pacific Bar. Fancy Dress optional (it isn’t really)
Map shows roughly where the entrance to the school is, go through the car park and it’s the first door on your left.
Atemi Nationals: Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November. £20!
After meeting the region, it’s only right we go on tour and show of our Jitsu at a National level. Held in Sheffield, it’s two days of Jitsu courses and a competitions, including “The Open” where the top black belts show their funky stuff off for our entertainment.
Here’s Sensei Shep showing us how it’s done in last years competition:
